| Abstract |
Ja‘far b. ‘Alba al-Harithi, is considered to be a poet of courtly love and a cavalier. He lived during the Umayyad and Abbasid eras. Abu-Faraj al-Isfahani admired his poetry. This paper is an attempt to collect his poetry from different ancient sources. The collection is preceded by a study of the poet’s name, lineage, family, clan, and his poetic themes. In accordance with this collection, these themes are limited to courtly love and raids on the clan of Bani ‘Aqeel, a branch of the tribe of Amir. |
