Abstract
Abstract. This paper intends to measure the effectiveness and qualification of Saudi schools of Architec-ture and Planning in producing competent professionals in comparison with their counterparts coming from non-Saudi schools. Such measurement will be based on opinions and perceptions derived from indi-viduals participating in teaching and practice. Also, the paper intends to realize the responsiveness of Saudi schools' programs to the qualifications which are deemed required in their graduates in order to per-form competently. The study reveals a good deal of confidence in the qualification and ability of local graduates as expressed by graduates of non-Saudi schools and faculty members in Saudi schools. Finally, the study shows the specifications desired by the local market in the graduates of local schools, in addition to the courses and programs to be initiated by those schools.
