In this series of papers the works which have been done to utilize Information Systems technology to serve the Islamic Studies are surveyed and critically reviewed. These include: the Holy Quran and its sciences, Prophetic Sunna, Islamic Fiqh (Jurisprudence), in addition to other miscellaneous applications. These papers explain, analyze and criticize the efforts from the author's point of view. In the first paper of the series, the research works and system developments done to serve the Holy Quran and its sciences are considered.
