Title The Role of Specialized Dictionaries in Translation

Abstract This paper deals with the ditrerences hdween idiomalic expressions and ordinary ~xpr"ssions. The reader can understand the ordinary expressions bas~d on the sum ofth.:ir lexical items. \\hil~ in the case of the idiomatic expressions the meaning is understood on Ihe basis of the conventional use. Thus. an idiomatic expression must be assigned in the target language to the corresponding onc in th.: sour~e language. This is why the use of specialized dictionaries is necessary in this regard. fhe dictionaries dealing with Arabic and Turkish have developed a lot these days hecause they are undertaken by authentic institutions and specialized experts. The problem of using the import"d idioms is due to the lact that the relevant authorities have delayed in coining the required terminology in the national languages. or 10 th.: adoption of idioms that are not appealing to the speech community.
