| Abstract |
Semantics is considered as one of the new and most important sciences of languages nowadays. Despite its relative newness, many independent studies have been done in the past, focusing on different aspects such as phonology, syntax, grammar, sentence, and lexicon. This study deals with the meaning of words in varius uses and contexts. It is to be noted that linguistic schools have not ignored the study of meaning; on the contrary, it has kept them busy for a long time. Therefore, many theories have emerged and, as a result, the term "meaning" becomes ambiguous. Within a lexical and morphological scientific framework, this study investigates the problemes of the semantic concepts in Hebrew, simply because semantics is important as a means of connecting linguistic expressions with sentences. This study also sheds light on the semantic concepts and their relations with other sciences. Finally, this study deals with the semantic level, represented in the semantic relations and all types of context. The study concluded by showing the relationships between the semantic concepts and life and society. |
