| Abstract |
Abstract. Although riddles were common in old Hebrew. they were not composed in poetry until the Jews lived with the Arabs during the Islamic state in Spain. Riddles were among the topics that were translated in the poetic form according to the ..\rabic patterns. Both the free and literal approaches were adopted in this translation. even though the former approach was obvious in poetic translations. while.the latter was obvious in the prose translation. This paper free translation of examines some models of the riddles into Hebrew. It also presents comments and explanations of these free translations of the Arabic riddles into Hebrew. |
