| Abstract |
Abstract. Cotton seed cake were collected from different dairy farms at Riyadh region, Saudi Arabia. The fungal flora and the potentiality of aflatoxins production in cotton seed cake were tested. A total number of 41 fungal species belonging to 11 genera were isolated from the cottonseed. Aspergillus, Penicillium and Alternaria were the most common genera. Cotton seed cake in Saudi Arabia had a high concentration of aflatoxin B1. While neither aflatoxin G1 nor aflatoxin G2 were detected. Keywords: Aflatoxins, cotton seed cake, animal feeds, fungi. |
