Title White Narration: Conventions and Denotations of Deviation
Source Journal of King Saud University. Arts. Volume 15, No 2. (2003/1423)
Abstract Abstract. “White narration” is the blank space between the differing segments of the written narrative text: the section, the chapter, the sub-chapter, etc. This study is an attempt, first, to point out some of the conventions that are related to the use of white narration in the pre 1960s Arabic novel, such as titling and numbering, and then to identify the types and denotations of deviation from those conventions since the 1960s.
