Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify the most important training needs for art education teachers in intermediate schools in three areas: academic needs, professional (A,B) needs and evaluation needs. This study included all intermediate school teachers of art education in Riyadh city. For the purpose of gathering the data, a questionnaire was developed. The major findings of the study are as follows: 1) There was an agreement between groups for assessing the range of need for more than 50% of training needs for art education teachers. 2) There were no significant statistical differences between the academic qualifications and the training needs concerning two parts; the academic and professional (A,B) needs and there were significant statistical differences on the evaluation part. 3) There were significant statistical differences between expereience and the training needs concerning: academic and professional (A) needs and there were no significant statistical differences on the part of professional (B) and evaluation needs. The major recommendations: Training programs for art education teachers should be arranged and they should depend on the following training needs: academic, professional and evaluation needs.
