Abstract The objective of this study is to follow up the features, causes, and consequences of structural changes in Saudi Fanning Industry within the period 1973/1974 - 1998/1999. The study showed that the average fann size increased to 167 Donum, the concentration coefficient ratio of Area distribution increased due to increase of large holders, the relative importance of agricultural co-operations increased. The dependence of hired farm managers increased too. Advanced technology, economic development, and governmental support programs, policies were the main causes of structural changes occurred in Saudi agriculture. The main consequences of structural change in Saudi agriculture are: Decreasing the Area percentage of permanent crops to 4.05%; increasing of the unutilized area percentage in 1998/1999 compared to 1981/1982; more market oriented production; more factor intensification in agricultural was noticed in combines, where less factor intensification in tractors, irrigation pumps, and agricultural labor were noticed. The average yield of all crops were improved except for fruits including dates in 1998/1999 compared to 1981/1982.
