| Abstract | The Sharaifi Saadi state in the Maghrib emerged at the. beginning of the 10th century Hejri / 16th century A.C. which coincided with the advent of the Ottoman influence in Algeria, and hence the Ottomans showed a desire to annex the Maghrib. However, the Saadis resisted them and did not recognize their Khelafah, claiming at the same time that the Khelafah is theirs for they are from Quriash. This diverging opinion towards the legitimacy of the Khelafah resulted in a continuing disagreement and tension between the two sides without caring about the serious consequences which resulted because of that. |
