Abstract
The Ottmans showed a great interest in building castles along the Hejaz railway to facilitate the piligrmage road and protect it. These castles played other roles, such as watching the beduin tribes living in the area and guarding the Hijaz railway. In this paper, we have studied the common architecture elements among these castles, like architectural planning, and the most important elements used and their development. It is observed that the civil and military architectural elements appeared harmonious with each other in the construction of the Ottoman castles.
