Abstract
This article deals with the social barrier in Saudi short story via pattern of figurative formation that makes it as device to a creative practice presents a vision to the world and a supposition to a meaning of an imaginative event. The article has begun by theoretical introduction to the relation between figure, story, and the reality. The article has clarifies by it the necessary of the figure of speech in the narration art. In fact, the reality which the literature deals with does not mean the experimental ocular facts as much as it means the mental vision structure. Hence the figurative barrier appears where the narration is of opposition in the structure of the reality where it alternates to figurative social themes of the negative dimension in a lot of narrative texts to a positive and active element which gives the opposition and barriers function. Then I mentioned four texts of the Saudi short story to read the social barrier figure as it formed by the narrative structure and its styles in a way that leads to find out the structural forma shares the characteristics in spite the fact of the individuality which appears in the structure in each text separately.
