Title Business Cycle in Saudi Arabia: Stylized Facts

Abstract This study investigates the “stylized facts” of the Real Business Cycle in the case of Saudi Arabia over the period 1963-1999. The study introduces the theory of the Real Business Cycle and covers the important aspects of the argument and counter-argument of the various schools of economic thought regarding this issue. The study found that most of the stylized facts predicted by the RBC hold in the case of Saudi Arabia over the period of the study. In particular, the study found two puzzles related to the Saudi business cycles and offered some solutions.
