| Abstract |
The goal of this study were to identify the type of income and the consumption expenses in the remote communities in Southern Jordan Region. In addition, to determine the level of richness by measuring income distribution and poverty within society members. A personal survey was carried out with 203 families selected randomly from 660 families in eleven villages. Tow questionnaires was used. Description statistics analysis, Lorenz Curve, Kuznets Index were applied to analyze the data. The results showed that deference in income between the poor and not poor families affected mainly by type of work, not period of work, first, secondly, by ownership, and thirdly the retirement salaries. The average family expenditures was 233.7 JD for 8.19 persons. The Gini Coefficient, reached 0.29, Kuznets Index 0.25. A. C. Pigou identified the socioeconomic level, was 166 degree (average).The Absolute poverty line gap was 2748JD monthly for all families and Severity of Poverty 0.02%. A Strategic used to reduce poverty and the big gab of income through improve income by work. |
