| Abstract |
The present study aimed at investigating the effect of several housing environmental fac-tors on students' achievement and to identify students' perceptions of the most significant housing and environmental factors that influence their achievement. To achieve these goals, a sample of 239 university students was chosen, and an instrument was developed to collect information about stu-dents' housing and environmental factors and other demographical variables. Results revealed that the availability of a private bedroom, private studyroom, and home library were significant housing and environmental factors that affected students' achievement. Also, results revealed that the avail-ability of television has a negative effect on achievement for students living in dormitories only. Furthermore, students believed that the availability of a private studyroom, a private bedroom, a home library, good lighting,a computer, and a home garden were the factors most influencing their achievement, in that order. |
