Abstract. The paper studies the cosonant N "Nun" in the Hebrew language as it has its signficant place in Hebrew. This consonant can be assimilated sometimes and can alternate with these cosonants in Hebrew: L,M &R. This consonant is usually nasalized in the speech of some Hebrew speakers such as the Yamenite Jews. The cosonant "Nun" can be assimilated when it is intervocalic, this can cause problems of pronunciation and of the morphology of Arabic-speakers learning Hebrew. The paper discusses the morphological unit which can be a prefix or a suffix. |
