| Abstract |
This study addresses the specificity of the Quranic structure and its congruity with elucidating and deepening the aims of the Holy Book. The congruity materializes at the level of the specificity of linguistic, morphological, and rhetorical dimensions. Concentrating on the functional signification, the study traces this specificity at all levels of expression, even at the level of a single letter. Such congruity enhances the relation between the expression and the occasion in which it takes place; it enhances further the correlation between structure and the aims of legislation by means of which both become one single texture. Thus, congruity be-comes apparent on the levels of the general context, a single verse, a single word, and even a single letter. The study, therefore, aims at drawing the objectives of legislation through Quranic structure, revealing thereby con-cepts of faith, social regulations, ethical values, and linguistic criteria: all coherently rendered in an autono-mous unity of expression. Such is the ideally harmonious way of human life according to the laws of Allah. |
