| Abstract | This study inteds to deoument traditional shools and Ribats ( dormitories ) in al - Madinah al -Munawarab during the last seven centuries . Such documentation includes date of establishment , titles , founders , locations , nad other important data related to each school and Ribat. In addition , the study has displayed, in general , the endowment regulations and its authentication approach as it affects the construction, administration, and maintenance of schools and’Ribats . More concentration was specifically given to schools and Ribat plans to illustrate their spatial composition and architectural elements . The study concluded to point to the great message which was carried on by these beneflcient institutions , their distinctive architectural characteristics, and the major role of the endowment as an administrative and financial approach which was taking p.art in establishing and maintaining these institutions. |
