| Abstract |
We try in this paper an analysis of the traditionally known exceptional case marking verbs in the minimalist approach. The analysis shows quite clearly that this kind of verbs can be considered as one type of control verbs in the sense that they check an accusative object followed by a null case PRO in the subject position of the infinitival complement IP. More evidence is drawn from Modern Standard Arabic and French. |
