Abstract Upper Cretaceous and Lower Tertiary ostracods from five wells in Saudi Arabia have been examined. The Superfamily CYTHERACEA, studied in detail, is represented by 71 species. Of these, 64 are new, one has been established by Siddiqui (1971), one by Al-Furaih (1975), seven by Al-Furaih (1977) and two are left under open nomenclature.
