Abstract
The geographical position of the Arabian Peninsula, situated between the ancient civilizations of India, Persia, the states of the eastern Mediterranean and Egypt, contributed to the Peninsula becoming an important center of trade and commerce, and to the emergence of several Arab states along the trading routes of the Peninsula. Al-Ula was situated on the main trading route which connected the south of the Arabian Peninsula with the Mediterranean countries.
